Lead and Copper Water Testing in North Carolina

Private well water sample collection and laboratory analysis for lead, copper, or both.

Serving homeowners in Raleigh, Wake County, and surrounding North Carolina communities. Tell us your testing purpose so we can confirm the collection requirements, scope, and price before your appointment.

Plan the sample first

Your testing purpose guides collection.

A homeowner check, follow-up sample, treatment comparison, and lender-requested test may call for different collection arrangements. Provide any written requirements and previous reports before scheduling.

Lead testing

Request laboratory analysis for lead as a standalone parameter or as part of a confirmed testing panel. Your quote identifies the sampling location and analysis included.

Copper testing

Request copper analysis separately or together with lead. Tell us about your concerns, plumbing changes, treatment equipment, and any previous findings.

Contact us before preparing the faucet. We provide collection instructions for your selected test. Do not assume that flushing, faucet cleaning, or other preparation used for a bacteria sample also applies here.

What to share before the appointment.

  • Your property address and preferred testing date.
  • Whether you need lead, copper, or both analyses.
  • The reason for testing and any written requirements.
  • Previous laboratory reports, including units and collection details.
  • Any recent faucet, plumbing, or treatment equipment changes.
  • Whether you want sampling before or after treatment.

We use this information to confirm the service scope and explain any preparation required before collection.

From appointment to documentation

Clearly identified samples and results.

Confirm the collection plan

We confirm the selected parameters, sampling location, preparation instructions, price, and appointment availability before service.

Collect the sample

Collection follows the laboratory’s requirements for the requested analysis. Access to the selected location and operating plumbing are required.

Receive laboratory reporting

Your report identifies the parameters analyzed, reported concentrations, and units. Laboratory turnaround is confirmed for your selected panel.

Keep records for follow-up

Save the report with its sampling details. If another test is requested, share the original report and any changes made since collection.

Testing before and after treatment.

If you want to compare selected results before and after treatment, tell us before booking. We confirm accessible sampling locations and quote each sample.

A comparison applies to the parameters and collection conditions tested. It does not certify every function of the treatment equipment.

Common lead and copper testing questions

Can I order just lead or just copper?

Yes. Specify the parameter you need when requesting a quote. Only the analyses listed in your confirmed scope are included.

Should I run the water before you arrive?

Follow the instructions provided for your appointment. Collection conditions depend on the purpose of the test and the applicable laboratory instructions. Contact us before changing your normal water use for sampling.

Will you test every faucet in the house?

Only sampling locations included in your quote are tested. If you want multiple faucets sampled, identify them before scheduling so each sample can be planned and priced.

Does a result identify the source of lead or copper?

Laboratory analysis reports the selected parameters in the submitted sample. Establishing a source may require additional sampling or investigation beyond a single test.

Is lead and copper testing included in bacteria testing?

No. These are separate analyses. Ask about combining testing during one appointment, with collection arrangements confirmed for each requested analysis.

Can I use the report for a mortgage closing?

Provide the lender’s written conditions before booking. We confirm the requested parameters and documentation. Your lender determines whether the report satisfies the loan conditions.

How much does lead and copper testing cost?

Pricing depends on your address, selected analyses, number of samples, and collection requirements. Contact us for a quote before service.

Arrange your testing

Request lead and copper sample collection.

Send your address, testing purpose, and any previous report or written requirements. We’ll confirm the collection plan, price, and availability.

Results apply to the sample, collection conditions, and parameters analyzed. Testing does not evaluate every possible contaminant, establish every potential source, or guarantee future water quality.
