Private Well Bacteria Testing in North Carolina

Total Coliform and E. coli testing with professional sample collection and laboratory reporting.

Well Water NC coordinates private well bacteria testing for homeowners in Raleigh, Wake County, and surrounding North Carolina communities. We confirm the sampling requirements, price, and availability before service.

Know what is being tested

Two named parameters. Clearly reported results.

Ask for a bacteria testing panel covering Total Coliform and E. coli. Your confirmed testing scope identifies the requested analysis and sampling location.

Total Coliform

Your laboratory report identifies the Total Coliform finding for the submitted sample. We keep this result connected to the collection date, location, and sampling records.

E. coli

Your report also identifies the E. coli finding when included in the selected panel. Review each reported parameter rather than relying on a general description such as “water test.”

Bacteria testing has a defined scope. This panel does not include nitrate, nitrite, lead, copper, or other chemical analyses unless they are separately listed in your quote.

Tell us why you are requesting testing.

The purpose of your test helps us plan the collection and documentation. When contacting us, mention:

  • A routine homeowner water check.
  • A previous Total Coliform or E. coli result.
  • Recent well disinfection or other corrective work.
  • Changes to plumbing or water treatment equipment.
  • A mortgage, refinance, or real estate closing.

Provide previous reports and the dates of any recent work or treatment. We confirm whether the requested service is an initial test or follow-up retesting.

Collection and documentation

What to expect from your appointment.

Before the visit

Send your address, preferred date, testing purpose, treatment equipment details, and any previous results. We confirm preparation instructions and pricing.

At the property

We collect the sample from an appropriate location using the laboratory’s collection requirements. Property access and operating plumbing are required.

Laboratory submission

The sample is documented and submitted for the selected analysis. Report timing depends on laboratory acceptance, processing, and scheduling.

Your report

Receive the laboratory findings for the parameters analyzed. Keep the report with your other well records for future reference.

Following up on a previous result?

Share the complete laboratory report and describe any corrective action already performed. Include the disinfection date, flushing information, and details of any well or plumbing work.

We confirm the appropriate collection arrangements before scheduling. Corrective work and a passing retest are separate matters; a passing result cannot be guaranteed.

Common bacteria testing questions

Does this panel include other water tests?

Only parameters listed in your confirmed quote are included. Ask about adding nitrate, nitrite, metals, or other available analyses before the appointment.

Can you collect a sample after well disinfection?

Follow-up sampling can be arranged. Tell us when the well was disinfected and what work was completed. We confirm the laboratory’s sampling requirements before collection.

What if my home has filters or other treatment equipment?

Identify all treatment equipment when scheduling. Sampling before treatment, after treatment, or at both locations depends on the purpose of the test. Additional sampling locations are quoted separately.

Can this testing be used for a mortgage closing?

Tell us about the loan before booking and provide the lender’s written conditions. Bacteria testing alone may not cover the complete requested panel or documentation.

How quickly will the results be available?

We confirm the expected timing when scheduling. Laboratory acceptance, cutoffs, weekends, holidays, and additional analysis may affect turnaround.

How much does bacteria testing cost?

Pricing depends on your location, selected panel, and number of sampling locations. Send your property address for a quote before service.

Does the report guarantee future water quality?

No. Results apply to the sample collected at the stated time and location and to the parameters analyzed. They do not guarantee future water quality or certify the entire well system.

Schedule your sample collection

Request Total Coliform and E. coli testing.

Send your address, preferred appointment date, and any previous laboratory report. We’ll confirm the scope, price, and availability.

Laboratory results reflect the sample and parameters tested. Bacteria testing does not evaluate every possible contaminant, certify well construction or pump condition, or guarantee future water quality.
